Maggie's Food Blog!

We love to cook together.  Typically I find an idea on Food Network or in one of my many magazines and get inspired to try something new.  We try to follow the "clean eating diet."  Using the term "diet" scares most people - in this context I don't mean diet for loosing weight, I mean diet as in the style of food we eat.

We also love to try new restaurants.  At least once every two or three weeks we will pick a place we have never been to, and try it!  Our one stipulation is it cannot be a "chain restaurant."

I think my fascination with food and restaurants comes from my family of "foodies."  Whenever the extended family gets together, there is ALWAYS good food!  Growing up, my amazing mother also always had some type of home cooked dinner for us to eat (home cooked, yeah, people don't do that anymore).  Even if we had to eat separately because of everyone's crazy schedule, it was important to her to have a healthy meal for us to eat.  I think that is where my fascination with cooking healthy food  began. I also am lucky enough to have a brother who is an executive chef at an awesome restaurant called Rooster's. He is constantly trying new and crazy recipes that are always prepared with local, fresh ingredients (and therefore healthy too!).

As we blog about our new recipes, favorite restaurants (Rooster's is one of em'), and eventually any homegrown foods, I will post links on this page of our blog so you can easily sort through and try some on your own!
